Hamburger Frenzy

Does it feel like summer is coming to an end way too quickly? Although, this card may evoke the feeling of summer, I think it could be used all year 'round. It certainly could be used for an invitation to a barbecue, couldn't it?

There are people who are very inventive with their craft punches. I am not one of those people. But I fell in love with the idea of this punched Hamburger card the moment I saw it on Splitcoast Stampers. So, when my husband suggested I send a gift certificate for a national hamburger chain to a very dear friend, I immediately knew it had to be inside such a card. (Just like I tend to include gift certificates to places like Chic-fil-A inside a chicken card.)

While I did not own all the appropriate punches, I substituted a couple of Nesties. "My lettuce" was done with an oval scalloped nestie, for instance, cut in half and used on both ends of 'my hamburger'.

You can view the original, clever card and 'punch recipe' right here.

Card ingredients:
• A2613 - Hello by PrintWorks
• Oval, round and square punches. Oval scalloped Nestabilities.
• Embossed Zig Zag Punch - PU284005 - Martha Stewart
• Cute gingham ribbon

Mmmmmh, I am getting hungry.....

LOL Isabelle! And do you put certificates for honey grahams in your bear cards?

This is such a clever idea for the hamburger! I give props both to the one who came up with it originally, as well as for YOUR Red Robin (YUM!) burger!

Great card!! Cute & Clever way to send a gift certificate. Plus it's a different way to use your punches and stuff. I especially like the dots and border edge with that ribbon ~ classy.
