Snowman and Snowflakes

Two of the various cards I sent out this Christmas. Not sure if I like it better with the background embossed or not.




Then again, neither of them look very good in this scan. I thought they looked better in person and hopefully, the recipients will think so, too. :)

Change of Pace

My favourite stamping style is simple, with a coloured image, usually. In my years of stamping I have found a groove and realized that I am not one for new techniques.

Hero Arts' 'reversed solid images' satisfy my 'need' to colour, as well as a quick and simple style.



For my card I used CG270 - Flower Bird Garden. Embossed in white on watercolour paper, then coloured with my peerless water colours. For the background I used the Country & Flowering Foliage Embossing Folder (657112) from Sizzix.



It kinda looks like silk painting. Not much of a different technique, maybe, but I certainly like the look.

Old Year, New Stock

Wild Flowers

Whenever I need a sympathy card, I tend to reach for my simple flower stamps.



I stamped and heat embossed the image on black card stock with white embossing powder. After matting it in white, I adhered it to a black card that is actually white on the inside.

I coloured the image with Copics and managed to get some nice shading. However, because the scan looks pretty flat you'll just have to take my word for it, I guess.

Heartfelt

When I stumbled upon this delicious card on Splitcoast Stampers, I knew straight away that I had to emulate it and many other creations from this seriously talented stamper.

Would I be able to find a suitable stamp in my stash of sentiments? Luckily, I found this...



...which led to this...



This lady's style is so exquisitely simple and elegant, I've already copied several of her creations.

Now why couldn't I think of that????

The hearts are two matching Quickutz dies. I cut them both out of purple card stock then swiped my VersaMark Dazzle Frost Shimmer Inkpad over the smaller one to add a bit of sparkle before adhering them atop each other.

Embossing Fun

In need of a quick, yet elegant card, I reached for my Embossing Folders and a border punch. A stamped sentiment, a couple of rhinestones and, ta da!

Garden Roses

It's a rainy and cool Friday morning, here in Colorado. The perfect time to show another one of my cheery rose creations.



I used white embossing powder again, this time on 'Fiesta Silver Sparkles' paper. Instead of the floating reinker technique, I simply coloured the image with markers. To soften the look, I then went in with my aquapainter pen to smoosh the ink around. Sooo much fun!

The piece of paper was cropped to size and adhered to a slightly larger piece of 'Fiesta Twinkle' paper, which is a pretty blue with the same silver sparkle. That, in turn was then glued to a "Silver Sparkles' card.

And there you have it; another very simple but cheerful card.

Chinese Doll

Today, I'd like to share this Asian inspired card with you.



I stamped the girl on white paper in black Memories ink and then again on red paper, embossed in gold. After cutting out the little Cheung Sam (the Chinese dress), I slathered it with my Champagne Versamark Dazzle, for some lovely gold shimmer and then adhered it to the doll image that I'd already coloured.

With my Cuttlebug and the help of oval Nestabilities dies, I cut out both the image and the scalloped oval. For the latter I used a nice gold paper (which looks very yellow in my scan). The little happiness circle was also embossed on a scrap piece of that very gold paper and cut out.

In my stash, I found a sheet of Asian paper that fit this kind of card perfectly, using only a small strip of it. This was simply glued on a white piece of paper. The border on the white paper was achieved with the Martha Stewart Mini Hearts border punch.

To finish it off, I wanted to add Gem Stones to the doll's hair. Because my stones were a teeny weeny bit too small to cover the design, I adhered them over top of tiny Prisma flowers that I also had lying around.

All those elements were assembled on Red Sparkle Paper and that's it!

Shrooms

Well friends, this concludes my famous card workshop series using Hero Arts stamps, LOL. This is also my favourite from that evening.

As you've come to expect, we watercoloured both the Paper Flowers and the mushrooms with Aquarell Pencils.

The Mushroom image is from CL305 - Sending Happy Thoughts and if you're interested in the spiffy Gem Stones you need look no further than right here. :)

Fancy Bird

Welcome back to my Hero Arts series. This being the third of four cards I created at a workshop. So no, I am not taking credit for any of the designs, just showing you what we ended up making that night.

The very first thing we did was watercolour the bird and the
Art Flowers with Aquarell Pencils, When dry, we stamped the little circle stamp in the flower center.

The bird and the friends sentiment are part of a clear set from Hero Arts. Sending Happy Thoughts - CL305

At home, I added a little Liquid Pearls to my project. That's it!

Sending Happy Thoughts

Here's another fun project I made at a card workshop, using Hero Arts clear stamps.


Once again we started out by watercolouring the Paper Flowers with Aquarell Pencils and then 'glitzing them up' with Ultrafine Glitter.

The Frog and the Sentiment are from a clear set called Sending Happy Thoughts - CL305 and at The Stampbuzz we also carry the Gem Stones that add the perfect finishing touch to any project.

Just Saying Hello

If you were getting a little tired of all my Penny Black posts, here's Hero Arts to the rescue.

A couple of months ago, I attended a class and this is one of four cards we made that night. (Yes, you'll get the pleasure of seeing them here, one by one, LOL).

I particularly enjoyed how we watercoloured the image as well as the Paper Flowers with Aquarell Pencils. We then added lots of sparkle to the Paper Flowers with Ultrafine Glitter. Fun stuff!

The owl and the sentiment are two separate stamps from the
Sending Happy Thoughts Clear Set - CL305.

After all the watercolouring had dried, we added sparkling
Gem Stones to our projects, to finish them off.
