Musical Memories

Ah, the times when we used to sit around the record player... When we used to nearly wear out the A-side of a record, keeping the player on the 're-play' setting.

For those of you too young to know what a record player looked like, see Sue's delightful card below!

Binky Baby (and NEW STAMPS)

I loooove making baby cards because it's okay to be all whimsical, soft and sweet. However, for this card, I tried to remain a bit more neutral. Do you think my attempt was successful? In the end, it's still a sweet baby card, isn't it?

The Deets:

Binky Baby from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop
Tiny Rain Dots
Dotted Wave Edger Punch by EK Success

As for the NEW STAMPS, I am happy to report that the first batch of Mo's clear stamps have arrived at The Stampbuzz. Wooohooo!!!

Bubbly Bears

Another new bear stamp from Stampavie!

I stamped the image on Cryogen shimmer paper and watercoloured it with Adirondack ink from Ranger (Caramel). Afterward, I cut it out with the 'Labels Two' Die from Spellbinders. Then, I cut out the same shape, on size larger, from a nice turquoise pearl/shimmery piece of card stock. I punched the background border with my Martha Stewart Mini Hearts Border Punch and added a tiny heart shaped Rain Dot to it. Oh, and of course I had to add a bit of sparkle to the champagne bubbles with my Sakura Stardust Clear Gelly Roll Pen.

As you may know, my lovely husband likes to comment on my cards, when I show them to him. (In reality, I make him look at them all!) This time, his comment started out really good. He said this was a typical Isabelle card. It's what followed that made me wonder, LOL. He commented that he couldn't tell which one of the bears was the girl and which one the boy! He even went a step further by saying it looked like a 'same sex bear couple'. While I completely disagree with his statement, I am glad to know that if I ever need a 'same sex couple card', I can refer back to this stamp, hahaha.

NEW - NEW - NEW

Brand new Penny Johnson stamps have arrived from Stampavie!!

About the artist:
Originally from London, England, Penny Johnson now lives in Todmorden, a small town in the North of England, with her husband Laurence, son Toby, and their cat Desmond! Penny loves experimenting with colour and creating artworks spontaneously, as well as designing to commission for publishers and manufacturers. She has a wide range of styles including quirky and cute characters, cute little retro children, abstracts and florals.

I stamped my first Penny Johnson stamp on watercolour paper and proceeded to colour it with Adirondack inks and my trusty aqua brush. Since it will most likely be mailed to a soccer loving friend or relatives, I used the red and blue of my home town football (soccer) team.

This, and a few other delightful stamps from Stampavie are now available at The Stampbuzz

The deets:
• Football Bear from Stampavie
• Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities Die from Spellbinders
• Happy Bearthday Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Sizzix

Enjoy a happy Friday the 13th and come back tomorrow for a simple Penny Black card.

More new Mice!!

Today, I'd like to showcase another delightful mouse image that's new from Stampavie, and new to The Stampbuzz.

I watercoloured the mice and slightly distressed the edge of the watercolour paper before adhering it to a purple mat and then mounting that to a pepper gray card. Very simple - and the image takes center stage. :)
