G.Q.

First thing that came to my mind when I purchased this north pole cutie, was white powder - embossing powder.

Unfortunately, some things look better in my head than they do translated on paper, LOL.

Yes, I embossed the entire image in white embossing powder. The plan was to make it stand out by watercolouring a lovely blue sky around the bear. How else would we see the white embossing on white watercolour paper? HOWEVER... reality looked quite different. Despite a deep blue around him, the bear's face seemed lost. I tried to colour his eyes, the snout and mouth with Copics as well as Sharpie pens, which made things worse. But I really like the sweater and scarf embossed in white, so I had no choice but to cut the bear apart.

After I stamped the bear in black (using Memories ink on Beckett Expressions card stock) I was much happier. I paperpieced the clothes that were previously embossed, watercoloured and cut out. The white paper was matted with blue and eggplant(which looks black in my scan), then adhered to a white card, and voilà my G.Q. bear is ready for winter.

Very very nice Isabelle! My first thought when looking at the card was "How did she only emboss part of it white??" Such a cute & stylish image. Great job!

Great Job! Funny how a problem with your initial idea made for a much better image. Most of my flops are un-rescue-able. I'm not ready to see him or think about sweaters yet, though.

Love how this eventually turned out - the white EP on the sweater is just perfect!
