Birthday Serenade

Finally, a creation! My stamp room is so crowded that it takes me longer to clear up the mess than it does to stamp a card. I find it quite frustrating but it is what it is. My husband actually asked me why there were so many boxes of stamps on the floor and taking up room on my desk? Then he looked around and answered his own question. There's simply no space anywhere else for me to put the stuff. So, if you should hear a loud thump, followed by a scream across the miles, I have taken out a wall around here.... :)

Anyway, I had to make a quick card and this Penny Black stamp certainly fit the bill. The image was coloured with only a few brush strokes, using Adirondack inks. Once that was done, I masked the cat and used a Stipple Brush and a yellow dye ink pad to add the glow around it.
Because I wanted kitty to be singing (caterwauling), I used part of this old "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment. When the word was too long for my Fabriano Medioevals note card, I masked the 'to you' part and used it on the inside of the card. So very easy.

The Stamps:

2381H - Serenade by Penny Black
Z498F - Happy Birthday to You by Posh Impressions

This kitty is so cute Isabelle - beautiful coloring! And I can relate about having to clear off my desk to stamp, and I don't even own a home business!!! :-)
