Violets for Violet

Friends of mine became grandparents for the third time a couple of weeks ago. The minute I learned that their newest granddaughter's name was Violet I thought of making a name frame for the baby.
I spent considerable time searching all craft stores for violet stickers and even purchased some on Ebay when my local hunt was unsuccessful. Well, the stickers finally arrived in the mail the other day and I did not like them, at all.
My second impulse was to stamp the violets, when I decided to look through my stickers at home. Boy, I should have done that in the first place, because I found all kinds of violet stickers right there! It appears that violets may have been fashionable a few years ago, but are rather hard to find at present. "Shopping" in my own stash turned out to be a brilliant idea indeed. Lesson learned on my part, LOL.
I purchased a 9" x 13" photo frame for my plaque and I cut out the letters for the name with my Xyron Personal Die Cut Machine. It's not a machine I use very often, but for the larger letters it was perfect. The photo frame came with a mat that was meant for two photos, so I cut out the middle part and decorated the whole thing with my violet stickers. So easy, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

Of course, I made a matching card to send along with the frame and a cute outfit for the baby and I obviously had to make a name frame for big sister Zoey, too, didn't I? I won't be showing you that one until Thursday but I will be back tomorrow with a new Hambo card. :)

The stamps used on my card and the envelope:
F1931 - Congratulations by PrintWorks
E6117 - Baby Shoes by Impression Obsession
and
97112MM - Violet by Inkadinkado

Cheerio! Isabelle

The frame turned out great, as did the cards! I know it's something that Violet will love as she grows older.

Perhaps I wouldn't mind shopping in your stash either, if this is the kind of stuff you have! ;)

Beautifully done my friend! I LOVE the name frame and the card is adorable. Isn't it amazing what we can find when we go digging in our own room of "stuff" tee hee!!
