Happy Hambo Wednesday everyone!
Has it ever happened to you that you really goofed up a card and out of that error came something you really liked? I don't usually goof up (yeah right!) but this time, my mistake was a doozie.
I stamped Hambo's lovely Watering Cans on a white piece of paper and coloured it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I was quite proud of how it turned out, I admit. Except, I thought I'd branch out and try my brand new Distress Crackle Paint over it. How dumb of me! Of course the opaque paint completely covered my entire creation. Once I got over my own stupidity and the paint was dry, I thought I'd see what happens if I stamped on top of the crackle finish. Well wouldn't you know the image came out beautifully. It looked quite nice uncoloured, but I thought I'd give markers a try and that worked perfectly with the crackle paint, as well. In the end I achieved the look I was going for originally, but I could have saved myself a few steps, LOL.
Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint is a one-step paint that cracks as it dries. It is available in 24 lovely colours that coordinate with the palette of Distress Inks and Distress Embossing Powders. If you are interested in purchasing any of them, I'd be happy to order them for you.
Both stamp images are available at Hambo Stamps:
Watering Cans - 2710
and
How's It Growin? - 2716
Come back tomorrow as I will be revealing my answer to a challenge that Monica had for her Design Team. I cannot wait to show you my ideas and see what fabulous creations the rest of the team came up with!

Wow, this DID turn out great! I've never tried to crackle anything, but it's a cool look -- especially for shabby chic projects. Geez, another thing on my "must try" list! :)
