Well, the pool here at the apartment complex has officially been opened and many people seemed to have enjoyed it during the Memorial Day weekend. It has been very warm indeed and I was inspired to make my first summer card. Except, as I am looking at it today, I realize that I did it all wrong! (The heat must have fried my brain.) The penguins should be facing the water, shouldn't they? I tore up a preprinted piece of paper that looks like sand and glued it atop blue card stock. Next time, I shall leave the blue card stock exposed at the bottom, instead, LOL.

Well... maybe the penguins are turning their back on their old way of life... the frozen antarctic, being chased by seals and great white sharks and Sea World acquisition folks... and looking ahead to the sun and sand and a refreshing beveridge. Or maybe the sun was just in their eyes?? Whatever the case, I'm sure they knew what they were doing.

Oh Isabelle...I am a bit slow today. When you said they should be facing the water, I thought...but then we would only see the white "shape" and none of the inked lines....like you would just flip them over and adhere them like that...Haaa Haaaa Haaa. I didn't get it until you mentioned placing the water at the bottom of the card...(like I said, a bit slow today!)
I really like this card...the "sand" looks so real!
