Love at First Sight!

If you have read earlier entries to my blog, you've no doubt heard me complain about the lack of space in my stamp corner. It's not a unique complaint, I am certain. Many of us start out this crazy stamp/scrapbook hobby thinking that a little corner of the den, home office, bedroom or family room will do just fine. But all of a sudden, like overnight, we wake up to an entire collection of 'STUFF' and nowhere to put it, right?

That's why I love finding organizational items that make my life easier without taking up a lot of room. Like so many others, I've also spent countless hours cutting and adhering heavy cardstock and magnets to empty CD cases to hold my growing collection of Nestabilities and Wizard Dies. While I still think it's a genius idea, it never quite worked for me as I tried to find the right dies for my projects (despite careful labeling). So, I cautiously purchased one Magnetic Book to see if I liked that system better. And YES, I loved my new QuicKutz Magnetic Storage Book so much that I went ahead an bought more to house all my dies! With my P-touch machine I printed labels for the front spine of each book for easy identification and for the inside I printed one label for each die. This may be a bit anal but it will help avoid duplications with future purchases.

I had hoped for the book to be bigger at first (it measures 8"x10" when closed), but it does get heavy with the strong magnets and all the dies. The magnets are indeed very strong and do keep my dies securely in place, (they kept sliding around my CD cases before). I also like seeing an entire set of complimentary Nestabilities together, as I now keep my ovals in one book, circles in another and so on. It also solved my problem on how to store my QuicKutz Alphabet Dies in one spot.

(The above photo shows my Wizard Geometric Dies that were released prior to the popular Nestabilties.)

The Magnetic Storage Book is not from Martha Stewart, but it's a good thing!
