ARTIST PIG

Well, an artist I am definitely not (a pig, more likely).

There often seems to be a discussion whether stampers are crafters or artists. Seeing certain people's creations, I feel they are very artistic. But really, what does it matter? Craft or art, I loooove this hobby.

While I have tried many other things, stamping is the one craft that I have never tired of. My style seems to remain pretty much the same though. That's probably because I most enjoy the colouring part of it all. Looking back at some images I coloured a few years ago (with markers) I am shocked. Shocked that I thought they were nice enough to mail out, or even worse, given as a gift (gasp). But then, I look at my colouring now and I feel much better about it. I will never be an artist, but I suppose practice really does pay off. Then again, there are so many ways to use a stamp, colouring does not have to be the main focus. That's another thing I like about our hobby!

This card was made with Hambo's Artist Pig - 19-7 and Regular Pigcasso - 19-18. Stamped a watercoloured on Fabriano Medioevalis Folded Card

I just looked at your Hambo Gallery. Your cards are darling. I think my new favorite is the new one of Tub Lady.

I think it funny that so many people are getting all bent out of shape over this artist/crafter issue...for me...no matter what they call it, I LOVE it too. I do think it takes artistic skills to do what we do, but I know I am not a fine artist...

anyway, I digress...I love that you look back and laugh at some previous creations...I do too...I am horrified by some of the cards and things I loved and now blech! Progress is a wonderful thing!

I LOVE your coloring...adorable card too.
