11 on the 11th

Noah, my favourite (and only) nephew turns 11 today. He has the coolest birth date of 1/11/1999.



What other card am I gonna send a boy who loves ice hockey and has played himself, since he was little?

I tried my best to copy Sandra McLean's Hockey Riley card by drawing in the boards myself, but as you can see, there's no comparison. This is why I stamp and NOT draw, LOL.

Do you ever draw in your own details when you stamp?

I needed a 'manly' card for a friend who likes to fish. Funny thing is, I sat down to make a quick card to drop in the mail box before the mailman arrived...



...one hour later dh came to see if I was still there, LOL! I still don't really understand what took so long. I think it was mostly the cutting. You know, the old 'three times cut and still too short'. No matter what, my cuts were crooked. If only there were dies for those larger mats, I would so buy them all. :)

Late on Sunday, our internet connection got slower and slower and then it died completely. Always dreadful, but we assumed it was due to the severe thunder storms and hail the area had experienced all day long. (Funnel clouds were spotted nearby). Unfortunately, there was still no connection on Monday. A phone call to the provider established that we were the only household in the neighbourhood that was affected. But, a technician was to drop by on Tuesday. Huh, Tuesday? That meant we'd be disconnected from the world for more than 24 hours??? As you can see, we survived the horrific experience and one brand new modem later, we are back, LOL!!

Along with the new modem, we also received a shipment of Hanna Stamps today. I am sure neither Riley, nor Sophie Moose need any introduction.



As soon as I received those cuties, I had to ink up Perfume Sophie, the most girly moose I'd ever seen. I coloured her with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and added lots of glamour from my glitter pens. Other than that, I kept the entire card very simple and straight forward.
